The bus service isn't very frequent, so having a car is a must. The Penzion might suit locals or people who already know what they plan to do, but I wouldn't recommend it to tourists or locals wanting to explore the area. At the restaurant, the traditional Slovak food was made with low quality ingredients. Update: the property's reply shows how nice, polite, and not racist they are. :) They surprisingly couldn't speak English when we were there, but it seems the owner learned it in 12 hours to reply here... impressive 😀

The rooms were OK, but the overall experience wasn't good. People working there were the worst type, walking into our room without knocking or anything. No one understood any language other than Slovak.

I never got to stay. KLM canceled our flight and moved it to a different day, 8 days ahead. We contacted the property of Janosikova Valaska, hoping for a voucher for later or some money back. After several calls, the only offer was 40% off a "next stay." Do they think I'd plan another stay? Of course not. They kept all the money without providing any service. They'll need it, though, because they'll lose all their customers with this business attitude. Good luck. 2) Reply to owner: Yes, I'm not angry. We contacted Valasku a week before the stay. Changing the date or giving us a voucher was entirely up to your goodwill and reputation. As we saw, there was no goodwill from your side. You've got the money, so enjoy it...

We didn't feel like guests, more like wallets to them. The owners treated us arrogantly and unfriendly, and we saw them act arrogantly toward the pension staff as well. We won't come back, and we don't recommend this accommodation.

The staff were very nice, the kitchen was really good, and breakfast was good too. They also serve local unpasteurized beer on tap.
