The food and service were spot on, and I'd happily return. I slept really well in a quiet room, even though it was next to a church. Churches in Slovakia can get pretty loud on Saturdays, so that was a nice surprise.

We could park right in the yard, which was handy. The room was comfortable and clean, breakfast was delicious, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

The room itself was adequate, but the TV sets didn't work, the plumbing seemed to be reversed and my daughter ended up with a cold bath. Paying was a mess too, since the staff didn't know how to operate the card machine. That left us stressed in the morning when we were trying to be among the first on the slopes. We only booked because we had no other option. We'd found the place on booking.com for a last-minute night in Donovaly at €124. My Slovakian partner went in person, hoping to save them the commission, but when the owner learned I was British he quoted €150 and removed the room from booking.com even though it was still available. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

We stayed for 10 days and loved it. The apartments were nice, the breakfast very good, and the staff were friendly and big-hearted. It's a great place to stay.
