Companero Resort

By the time we arrived, it was December 31 at 4 p.m., the city was fully booked, and we had nowhere else to go with our luggage and holiday plans. The rooms we had reserved were occupied. No one tried to explain, and they simply returned our money and rudely told us to leave if we didn't like the other rooms. We'd booked several rooms two months earlier, paid a deposit, and carefully agreed on exactly which rooms we needed. The New Year was meant to start smoothly, but instead we were met with indifference, rudeness, and no sense of responsibility. What should have been a warm, joyful celebration became a shock. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The service and treatment of guests were terrible, and they can ruin the year's most important night.

For 100 US dollars, you get electricity, Wi-Fi, air conditioning from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 am, and free breakfast. You get what you pay for. They take cash in US dollars or Leone, or PayPal, but not plastic credit cards.

The staff were welcoming, the facilities were excellent, and the beer was nice and cold. We came to Burreh beach hoping to try more traditional African food, even though the menus all sounded lovely. The guys working here were happy to make that happen, and we had delicious local food on each of the next two nights. A big thanks to our friend Kabba (Salah!) for making us feel so welcome.
