I wanted to rent a bicycle, which is almost unheard of in Dakar, and the staff asked around among their friends until they found one. I'm glad they did, it opened up my experience of this amazing city. The place feels safe, with a 24-hour concierge, and the rooms are cleaned daily. The furniture, bed linen, towels, kitchen and bathroom were all clean. Free Wi-Fi reaches every room, and I consistently got a respectable 3Mbps. Power is 230V, and the universal outlets accept American, European, British and Chinese/Australian plugs. One thing to know is that the water is solar heated, so you need sunshine for hot water, which is almost certain in Dakar. I guess a sandstorm could mean no hot water, ironically just when you might need it most. I gave this place five stars, meaning it's clean, safe and well run by really nice people, not that it's a "Five-Star Hotel." I hope you like it too. Richard (from London)
