Hotel Lagon 2

The breakfast was delicious and nicely presented. The bed was roomy and comfortable, and the ocean waves lulled me to sleep. The hotel juts out over the water, and my small balcony had a great ocean view, though it needs maintenance and I didn't step onto it. There's plaster falling off in parts of the room. With better upkeep, this would be worth five stars.

I loved the nautical theme, the ocean views from the rooms and the parking, but the roaches ruined our mini-honeymoon stay. I lost count after seeing eight, and four times in one night one got onto the bed. We slept with the lights on so I could watch for them, and one even landed on my husband's face. At least we're a light-hearted couple and may laugh about it later. Still, I felt awful putting him through it, and was so disappointed I'd used my credit card points here instead of choosing another hotel. There is so much potential for a memorable experience for international and locally based guests. I hope they get the pest control under control and invest more in restoring the older rooms and repainting the aging paint. It's a shame. Do better. This is no longer a four star hotel.

The breakfast buffet was nearly empty. When I asked for fruit, they said there was none left. I ordered a cappuccino and watched staff add a bunch of cocoa powder to it. When I asked for one without, they said that would just be milk with coffee, not a cappuccino. The room was disgusting and falling apart, with a strong damp smell, a hole in the bathroom ceiling, and a cockroach that nearly made me faint while I showered. My four year old nephew got food poisoning there, needed IV drops, and had the rest of his holiday ruined. Wi-Fi only works in the room, hello 1985. I don't even know where to start. Biggest disappointment ever, and I wouldn't recommend it.

I stayed for two days. The rooms weren't clean, the bathrooms were poor, breakfast was bad and the service wasn't good.
