You have to pay 2,000 CFA per adult to get onto the beach. The beach is right by Dakar's industrial area, and the rotten fish smell hangs around so badly that relaxing or swimming is almost impossible. I also wouldn't consider the water safe for swimming. Don't be taken in by the positive reviews.

A beach bar next door serves drinks and local food, with ocean views while you sit. The beach itself is clean and looked after, and the water is calm enough for swimming or wading. Big palm trees give you plenty of shade, which is unusual on Dakar's beaches and makes it easier to relax without worrying about too much sun. Plage de la Voile d'Or feels like a quiet little find in Dakar, with a nice mix of natural scenery and calm. It could be a good beach visit for locals or tourists.

There are clean facilities here, including toilets and changing stalls, and the water is clear and calm. Entry costs a small amount, while the lounge chairs cost extra, but seemed worth it if you're staying for a few hours. A little hidden gem in Dakar. 🏖️🦀🩴

This was my least favorite beach in Dakar. I've visited beaches all around the peninsula, and I prefer the others for their scenery and cleanliness. The beach itself is attractive, but the nearby port and industrial area make the surroundings unpleasant, and the air seems quite polluted. People were behaving carelessly when I was there, so it wasn't a relaxing place unless you could find a quieter time. I also didn't see the point of paying an entrance fee here after having good experiences at the other beaches I visited.

It's a nice, very clean private beach in Dakar, with a few restaurants close by. I'd bring food from home.
