The restaurant is great value, the food is excellent, and the lady who runs it is kind and gracious. The rooms are ordinary but nice, with doors that open onto a balcony. The place is almost 100 years old, yet extremely clean, with staff always mopping and wiping things down. Everyone’s very friendly and helpful, always smiling. I stayed four nights and enjoyed the atmosphere and comfortable bed.

The location made my life a lot easier for business in central Dakar. It’s budget accommodation, close to major institutions like the embassies, the CFA main bank, and the docks, and a good way to stay central and avoid traffic jams. Rooms are basic but clean, with hot showers, Wi-Fi that works pretty well, and mosquito nets provided. The staff are great and always greet you. There’s a nice little restaurant that will always feed you, and a great market around the corner, so they never run out of food. Have a look at the market, by the way. It’s amazing if you’re a westerner. The croissants are the best I’ve ever tasted!

It’s been open since 1906 and is well located, not far from the Presidential Palace. The rooms are spacious, with a good air conditioner, television, and cable TV. There’s no safe.

The shower was strong and the water stayed perfectly warm, and the private bathroom was nice and completely clean. The place has a quiet, friendly feel, with a great bar and living room in a simple local style. It’s cozy and authentic, not flashy or trendy. Good value for the money.
