Onomo Hotel Dakar

Someone tried to get into my room through the sliding door while I was asleep. It was frightening, and I didn’t feel safe there afterward. The staff’s response made things worse. They showed no urgency, didn’t apologize, and didn’t try to reassure me. I asked to speak with a manager and someone who could communicate clearly in English, but I didn’t feel my concerns were taken seriously. I don’t recommend this hotel, especially if you’re traveling alone or care about security and professional service.

I’d give this place less than one star if I could. The rooms stink, and the bathroom was completely unacceptable. There’s no phone in the room for emergencies, so forget about room service. The staff were extremely rude, including the so-called manager. Stay away from this hotel.

The location is great, but the service let me down. They advertise a breakfast buffet, yet if you don’t get there in the first hour, you’re left with just bread and fruit. Maintenance is slow, and they don’t seem concerned about guests seeing mess around the property, even right in front of the hotel. For two days in a row, I came back to find my room hadn’t been cleaned. One good thing is that most staff listen and are often willing to help.

The room wasn’t cleaned, and I had to complain after two days. WiFi was poor, with the signal repeatedly cutting out. The breakfast buffet cost a lot for the low quality. I couldn’t use the pool because the blue tiles looked black from being dirty, and the loungers didn’t look clean either. On my last night, there was a concert in the pool area below the room balconies. Nobody warned us beforehand or apologized afterward. The noise made the room vibrate and went on until 2 am.
