The rooms are simple, but good value for the price. I was traveling solo, and the staff’s kindness and compassion really touched me. They went out of their way to help me feel welcome and supported, with the warm hospitality Senegal is known for. The restaurant has delicious local dishes at reasonable prices, which can be hard to find elsewhere. If you want a genuine connection with locals, this hotel is a great fit. I had a fantastic stay and highly recommend it to solo travelers hoping to experience Senegalese culture. 10/10.

Diallo was a gem during our stay, always attentive and helpful, and ready to listen and accommodate our needs. The service from the staff was impeccable. The facilities were what I expected of a three-star hotel. It’s a bit away from the city center, but close to the university and the main road. I’d recommend Wakola Hotel for business trips or conferences in Dakar. It was a wonderful place for my first visit to the city.

The rooftop restaurant and bar serves a good breakfast with views over the city. My room also had a lovely city view from the balcony, and smelled wonderful after each clean. It’s a comfortable, well-equipped modern hotel in central Dakar, within easy reach of most attractions and districts. The air conditioning worked properly and kept the room cool, and the free WiFi stayed connected with a strong signal through my four-day visit. Toiletries were complimentary too. The staff were fantastic, welcoming, and always ready to make the guest experience better. Special thanks to Mietou, Diallo & Khady, such a great team. I’d happily stay here again and recommend it to other visitors to Dakar.

The Wakola team were the kindest and most welcoming hotel staff I’ve ever experienced. Mr Diallo and Florentin at the restaurant were especially generous and helpful. Mr Diallo even answered questions and arranged things for me on WhatsApp before I arrived. The hotel is clean, beautiful, and has everything you could need. Breakfast is free and wonderful, and dinner at the rooftop restaurant is delicious and very reasonably priced. Its location felt perfect and safe. I was attending a conference at the Université Cheikh Anta Diop, just a 20-minute walk or a 5-minute taxi ride away. There’s a handy supermarket and bureau de change right outside, and getting taxis through the Yango app was always quick and easy. This was one of my best hotel stays. I can’t wait to return to Dakar and stay with Wakola again. Mr Diallo and Florentin, THANK YOU!
