La Lagune

The place is peaceful, the staff are amazing, and both the rooms and buffet are great. For a 3-star hotel not too far from Dakar, it actually feels like a 5-star one. There are enough pools to suit different tastes if you enjoy swimming. My family and I had a great experience at Africa Queen. Highly recommend it.

The location is lovely, close to the lagoon and artisan market, and right by the beach. The food is great and the staff are very nice. It can get really busy on weekends, and one day we couldn't find a seat. Otherwise, it's a great place to stay.

The beach has a lovely walk in either direction, especially towards surf spot la Somone, which has a nice beach too. There's easy access from the hotel, with gentle waves for body surfing and a quieter area as well. The view is great, and the staff are friendly and ready to help with anything. Dinner was really good, while breakfast was okay. I didn't use the pools, but lots of people, especially families with kids, seemed to enjoy them. Saturday's live music on the beachfront was a bit noisy for me, though the stay was very relaxing overall.

What stood out most was how friendly and helpful everyone was, from reception and restaurant staff to housekeeping and security. Our room was clean, the beach was lovely, and we really enjoyed the fabulous buffet at breakfast and dinner. We had a wonderful stay at the African Queen Hotel. For an extra treat, get a massage. Highly recommended, there was so much to enjoy!
