It's a lovely place to unwind beside the broad, beautiful river, though prices are a bit high and there aren't many other options nearby. The public toilets by the restaurant need better upkeep. Water supply should be made reliable too, since it often stopped coming from the tap.
The rooms and grounds are being renovated to make them more comfortable. It's a quiet spot with a nice beach, good for birdwatching, including pelicans and herons, or wandering through the mangroves.
Le Pélican draws both locals and plenty of Tubaab. The mosquito nets work and look decorative, too. The pool's a great place to observe S. haematobium in its natural habitat.
The main building and restaurant are great, but the rooms and the place overall feel old and worn. Water and electricity often go out.
The scenery is lovely and the service is great, but there was no water in the hotel.
