The restaurant staff could do much better with their customer service attitude, though the front desk team were okay. The hotel has an old colonial-building feel, and the rooms are small but fairly modern after some renovation. Some look out over the river, which is cool. Breakfast could be better, and the tiny rooms are overpriced. Still, it’s a good hotel overall.

The courtyard has a big tree, the WiFi is great, and the location off the tourist street suited us. It seems geared toward business travelers, and at least one person at the desk speaks English. The shower wasn’t great, though there was hot water. At arrival they said only a suite was available, but by breakfast it was clear the hotel wasn’t full. At checkout I was quoted a higher rate because there were two of us, even though that hadn’t been mentioned at check-in. I managed to negotiate back to the rate we’d originally agreed on.

There’s outdoor dining, with waterfalls in the garden. The hotel has spacious rooms and a lovely river view.
