We left after just one night. The place is only a shadow of what it was years ago: our room was dirty, cockroaches were crawling around, the towels were dirty, and the walls were damp. We pushed for a different room, but the staff seemed to be avoiding the extra work of preparing recently renovated rooms. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The restaurant had swarms of flies, so you might be better off having breakfast at one of the nearby places. The included breakfast itself was basic but enough, and reception staff were super friendly. My simple, cozy single room looked out on a lovely, well-kept tropical garden and swimming pool. It was spotless, with fresh flower petals on the bed and interesting artwork on the walls. The location was good too, an easy walk to the old town square and down to the beach. I stayed just one night and it suited me perfectly. Keep your expectations measured.

Food was decent, and the pools were okay, but don’t use the 1 meter 10 pool before breakfast because it gets cleaned afterward. Some rooms don’t have air conditioning, and the Wi-Fi isn’t great if you need a fast connection. It’s an okay hotel.

On my third vacation in Saly, I went there to buy thiebou djeune, a Senegalese meal. It was the best one I’ve bought there.
