Torarica Resort

The pool was a highlight, with plenty of space, good upkeep, and sun for relaxing. I spent a weekend at Torarica Resort and got the peaceful escape I needed, even within the city. The grounds are lush and quiet, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well equipped, with a beautiful view. Staff welcomed me warmly and professionally, check-in went smoothly, and they offered fresh juice as a welcome drink. The sauna was clean and relaxing, and the massage was outstanding, soothing, professional, and worth booking. Breakfast was fresh with lots of variety. The restaurant and bar had great food and friendly service throughout the weekend. I also enjoyed the waterfront and spa, and the whole stay felt calm and restful.

I haven't stayed at the hotel, but it's in a nice location. The bar restaurant service is fine when it isn't too crowded, and the food and drinks are nice. Expect hotel prices.

Breakfast was the highlight of the stay. The spread was generous, with something for everyone, and it lived up to all the good things we'd heard. I only wish I'd taken more photos and videos. Check-in, on the other hand, took about 45 minutes because the lines were poorly managed. There were two booths without signs, so everyone queued at one desk while people who arrived later got served first. It caused frustration, even arguments between guests, and made us reschedule our TorWellness appointment. The complimentary fruit punch was a nice touch, but clearer signs and better organization are needed. There were plenty of places to get food and drinks: the pool deck, Pier restaurant, another restaurant on site, and the indoor Edge Bar. We tried several drinks and wines, and raspberry iced tea was my favorite. The “spicy” wings weren't very spicy but tasted good. We also had bitterballen and garlic focaccia with hummus, garlic butter, and a third sauce I can't remember. Everything was delicious. Prices were higher than local restaurants, even with the local discount, though we expected that. The vibe was very relaxed, and service at the restaurant and pool was quick and friendly, so it was easy to unwind by the pool. We enjoyed the sauna and jacuzzi at TorWellness, which were easy to book and worth doing again.

Check-in started off badly. I had to fill in a list on a screen, and then they upgraded me to an EXECUTIVE room, which made me suspicious. Why upgrade someone staying at the hotel for the first time? They said, “We give you a big room.” I told them, “I want a small room.” They took me to a large room, and it involved a lot of walking, so I wasn't happy. But when I passed reception on my way out into town, they said they'd change my room. I ended up with a very nice room.
