Bed & Breakfast Albergria Porcelana

The staff were really kind, and the location is right in the center. Still, I was given a different room from the one I booked, which felt like a scam. The advertised private parking wasn't actually available, and the low-quality “international breakfast” was a letdown. The manager didn't even know breakfast was included in my reservation.

Breakfast was decent, with fresh fruit, coffee, eggs, and bread. Power could be unreliable for long stretches, and since it also runs the water pumps, that affected more than just the lights. I know this wasn't the hotel's fault, though a generator might be worth considering. The breakfast patio upstairs was pleasant, with views of the hills, and the facilities were in good shape. The rooms were clean and practical rather than luxurious; I stayed in two, and one was better than the other. It was an easy five-minute walk to the central area and waterfront, but the road outside was noisy and smoky from traffic. The employees I met were kind and helpful. Finding someone to ask a question could be awkward, since there's no front desk or reception and you walk upstairs among the rooms when you enter. I'd recommend it to visitors who want to stay in Sao Tome city without paying for a luxury hotel.

A complete disaster. My pre-ordered, confirmed airport pickup never arrived, and the room didn't match the description on bookingcom. Felt like a prison.
