We stayed at Emoyeni Gardens at both ends of our tour of Sao Tome, and both the hotel and the island exceeded our expectations. The rooms were spotless and nicely appointed, with lovely sea views upstairs. It felt very safe, and we could walk anywhere in town. Papa Figo is an excellent restaurant just five minutes down the road. 100% recommended.

Alexandra, the manager, made this stay memorable. She was warm, hands-on, and genuinely helpful, sharing honest tips about the island, arranging a rental car, and stepping in when the rental company tried to overcharge me. She also let me check out late, so I could enjoy my last day. I left feeling looked after and relaxed. Emoyeni Gardens is peaceful and charming, with a beautifully kept tropical garden, just minutes from the centre of São Tomé town. The spacious, comfortable rooms have sea views, though the balconies aren't really usable for sitting. Breakfast was solid, but only filter coffee is included. Espresso or a proper Americano costs extra, which felt a bit out of place with this level of hospitality. Highly recommended if you value peace, comfort, and genuine service.

The place has a cozy, spotless, almost grandma's house feeling, in the best way. The rooms are fairly spacious, and the bed was super comfortable, with an actual blanket and adorable bedding. There's an amazing restaurant called O Pirata about a 10-minute walk away. It looks simple, but the food was incredible, and an old-fashioned casino is just a few minutes away. Alex was probably the most accommodating host I've ever met. She answered messages almost instantly and sorted out airport pickup, local tour guide recommendations, and money exchange. Our flight was delayed by two days, and she adjusted our check-in dates without charging extra.

Alex made me feel welcome right away, even giving me a free room upgrade on arrival, and her local suggestions were great. On my last day, she recommended a tour company I used for the next two days to see the island. The spotless hotel is right by the beach and close to downtown. I spent 2 weeks in Sao Tome, and this was my favourite hotel for customer service. Great value for money, and I'd stay again next time.
