The beds were comfortable, the room had plenty of space, and the blackout curtains and strong AC made it easy to sleep peacefully. The staff were professional and helpful, and breakfast was delicious, especially the coffee. I just wish each dish came with a small serving of fruit. I picked this place to get away from noise in the surrounding area, and it worked well. There were more good things than bad during my stay, though the property could still improve. I’d have liked a heads-up that the outdoor saltwater pools weren’t working, since they were one of the reasons I booked. Around 9 pm, the pool area’s cushions, chairs, and tables are put away, so you need to finish lounging early. I think they could keep things out later. A cold-water station in the lobby would also be useful, especially in El Salvador’s heat and humidity, so guests could get water at any hour.

The view really is beautiful, but it was hard to enjoy it after dealing with management and the front desk. They changed our rooms without communicating properly, then said a refund would be processed. That still hasn’t happened. The lack of follow-through and transparency was the biggest concern for me. A lovely location and view are easy to find elsewhere. What makes a business stand out is treating customers with respect and acting with integrity, and I didn’t feel that happened here. I hope management handles situations like this differently, because rebuilding lost trust is difficult.

The location is beautiful and perfectly placed, but that’s about all I liked. I looked at three rooms, and every one had a mildew-like smell. There seem to be signs of substantial water damage, and there were mosquitoes everywhere. As an American traveler, you’ll want Google Translate. The staff didn’t speak English, and it was very hard to explain what I needed. I felt that made it easier to be overcharged, and I also didn’t find them very accommodating. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We stayed at Acantilados for a couple of days during our time in El Salvador. The room was spacious and very clean, and the views were lovely. We especially enjoyed relaxing by the infinity pool and taking in the fact that we were on vacation. I tried the bar’s spicy cucumber margarita. It was unusual, but I like trying new things. A very beautiful hotel, and I’d recommend it.

We had a great NYE stay at Acantilados. The room was clean and spacious, the breakfast was great, and we loved the pool and the stunning ocean views from the cliffside location. There’s an infinity pool, a natural pool, a bar, and a restaurant. The only issue was the elevator noise, which kept us awake at night.
