The Towers at Mullet Bay

The rooms are a little dated, but they’re nice and have full-sized kitchens, so you can shop locally and cook to save money. Staff are super helpful and friendly, and there’s good wifi now, which used to be a problem. US power plugs and secure parking are available on site. There’s no restaurant, though the beach bar does serve food. The beach is across the street and easy to reach on foot or with a two-second drive. The views are spectacular, and the pool is a great afternoon option. It’s comfortable and clean, especially for families, with a wonderful beach nearby. There’s also an event coordinator if you want to arrange a day trip.

I liked how the course layout uses the terrain, and the water views in the distance are nice. The fairways are wide enough for casual golfers, but they’re very thin and could use attention. Irrigating the fairways and greens would be too expensive and cost prohibitive. Green fees could be lower, though there’s no competition on the island.

It felt dated, though comfortable enough, and there was a pool but no beach access. The biggest letdown was having no restaurant or bar, and the pool bar shut at 7pm, leaving me without dinner when I arrived. Since it’s isolated, going out to eat is annoying and expensive. Skip the casinos and Maho noise and head to Portocupecoy instead. The wifi was very slow, and charging $5 for it feels outdated.

Feels like a home away from home, with courteous and prompt service. The rooms are clean and nice, with amenities, and the prices are reasonable.
