Hotel Indigo Turks Caicos Grace Bay by IHG

We only stayed one night, but they made us feel so welcome. I was greeted with a drink, and they’d even arranged a thoughtful birthday surprise. Michael and the rest of the staff were polite and happy to help. The pool was great, the food was excellent, and having Brango and Ill Forno on site was a real plus. There’s also a shuttle to the beach, where umbrellas are available. One of my best hotel stays in a long time.

We needed to move our reservation to another Hotel Indigo because our travel plans changed. The hotel said we’d lose the cost of one night, even though we’d still be staying with the brand. I understand that’s the policy, but we had proof of the new booking and thought the hotel might make an exception. Two IHG Diamond Elite support representatives said waiving the fee was within the hotel’s discretion. They each tried calling the property to discuss it, but nobody answered. We were left to handle everything by email, and the hotel said it wouldn’t do anything for us. For a newly opened hotel without reviews, I expected more effort to make a good impression. We travel often and would have considered staying here later, but we won’t now. I’ve also seen online skepticism about whether this hotel is legitimate, so I’d be cautious about booking.

I like boutique hotels, and I’m glad I got to see this property near the beginning. Deja and “ right on time” were lovely, and the bartenders and servers were attentive and friendly. One server even remembered after my first morning that I ordered tonic water, then offered it to me the next day. The staff asking what I had planned each day didn’t bother me. They’re locals and might have useful tips. My room was cleaned when I asked, the water was always hot, and the food, pizza included, was good. I know a small island won’t have all the same amenities as the States. Americans reading this, don’t be so quick to exploit the locals. Chill, or visit montana. I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next for this property.

We felt so welcome here, and there were lots of amenities. Ms. Juju and Ritney in the shop were especially kind and always made us feel at home. We’ll be back!
