Point Grace

I’ve stayed at many hotels around the world under Hilton’s flagship and am a Diamond Honors member, but this is my favorite so far. From my bedroom I could look out at the lovely turquoise-blue beach. Ms. Locresha at the front desk showed great hospitality and is a real asset to the hotel. The room was excellent, and I loved the restaurant food. Breakfast was great too, and it’s free. All the best, I’d like to come back.

With children, I wouldn’t choose this resort again. Turks & Caicos was my third visit, and there are plenty of comparable options. For the money, families should look for somewhere that welcomes kids. The General Manager approached me to say my children couldn’t play with a beach ball in the pool. Nobody else was in the pool, though another family with young kids was in the hot tub, so I’m not sure who we were bothering. At the very least, there was a less hostile way to tell us. That interaction soured my view of the resort and its hospitality. Before that, I’d been overlooking how little warmth the kids received. That moment was the last straw. From what I gathered, some units are owned by residents, mostly retirees who may be looking for peace and quiet, which I understand. The resort should make it clearer that it’s really aimed at adults. For example, its social media shouldn’t show families if that’s not the experience they intend to offer. Otherwise, guests who didn’t get the message beforehand can end up frustrated.

Construction next door was extremely noisy. It’s a large site, with work starting early and continuing all day; we were woken by it every day, even with the doors and windows shut. The company that owns Point Grace also owns the property being built beside it. We requested a quieter room before arriving and again after the first night, but they wouldn’t accommodate us.

We’ve stayed at Point Grace six times and don’t plan to stay anywhere else. Fred Khoury, the amazing GM, knows us by name, and by the end of a visit the staff feel like family. The GM, concierges, breakfast, beach and bar staff, and housekeeping are all friendly, attentive, helpful, and accommodating. It’s a gorgeous little boutique hotel on Grace Bay, with sublime grounds. The suites and rooms are beautiful, clean, comfortable, and well outfitted. If you want a unique, special stay on a magical island, look no further.
