The Lodgings Hotel SureStay Collection by Best Western

Airport proximity is a plus, but the room situation made for a horrible night. We paid $311 for one night. In the first room, the sheets had blood spots and yellow stains. After we were moved, the towels had dark brown marks, and roaches crawled up the bedboard while we tried to sleep. If you don’t want an expensive, dirty room with roaches, book somewhere else. P.S. The hotel is clean, and the experience felt in line with what we paid. The main issues for me were the kitchen and bar management. Breakfast is meant to begin at 7 a.m., which is already late, but it often opens late too. Expats who need to leave early for work can end up missing breakfast altogether. The gym also has no air conditioning.

The rooms were clean, but a few things were off. The shower only had lukewarm water, and the remote from another room controlled our fan lights. It was already 5:40 p.m. and our room still hadn’t been serviced. The body wash ran out after the first shower, and our key stopped working on day two. Oh well, island time!

I liked the place overall. It’s clean, well maintained, has a great pool, and the staff are really nice. The restaurant out front is friendly and pretty good. Even though it’s beside the airport, plane noise didn’t bother me. It’s also outside the tourist area, which may suit you if that’s what you like. Getting around by cab can cost a lot. The hotel tries to help, but there’s only so much they can do. You can walk to Five Cays beach, though it’s a bit of a wild walk. I prefer it to Grace Bay for the quiet, wildlife, and conch shells, but it’s rough in places and has some garbage. I think the hotel delivers more than you might expect for the price. If you’re adventurous, it’s an interesting neighbourhood and an affordable place to stay. Just my two cents.
