The Venetian On Grace Bay

I expected very little, but ended up thinking this was fantastic value. The room was clean, comfortable, modern, and furnished well. The pool was nice and very clean, the staff were pleasant, and the whole property was tidy. The rooms have been updated at some point, and the furniture didn’t feel outdated. It’s about a 3 minute walk to the beach. You won’t get room service, a swim-up bar, free breakfast, or a gym. But for a solo traveler, a family on a budget, or anyone watching their spending, it’s a great alternative. I never felt unsafe or sketched out. You can still go to the beach in front of the Ritz and eat at the same restaurants. My room cost about 1/5th of what my friends paid for a week at the resort across the road. One thing to know, there’s a popular sports bar next door with karaoke until 12:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You could ask for a room on the other side if that might bother you, though it wasn’t much of an issue for me. I’d suggest checking out the bar instead. They have casino games, and the owners seemed to care about the place. It was good fun 👍

We were a family of five, and the room was excellent. The front desk was really helpful and changed our itinerary without any trouble. Great staff.

I don’t usually write reviews, but please don’t stay here. We walked in to check in and the room smelled awful. Looking around, it was filthy, as if nobody had cleaned after the previous guests. There were stains on the sheets, the walls were damaged, and paintings had been put over holes and chipped paint. The floors were disgusting, with dead bugs and black dirt everywhere. The bathroom had mold, the AC didn’t work, and the cabinets, furniture, and TV were marked and stained. Everything felt sticky. It didn’t seem new or updated at all, and for the price it came across like a motel. We asked for a refund so we could get out, but were told there was no manager. The pictures on Expedia and other travel sites don’t show what the place is actually like. It feels like they’re scamming people out of their money. Update: They showed us two more rooms, both in horrible condition, so the place still wasn’t up to appropriate standards. We booked another hotel the same day we arrived and left without staying. We’ve called the front desk day after day trying to reach the manager, who supposedly isn’t there whenever we call. The staff member on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday kept saying she’d be in tomorrow. When tomorrow came, we were told to call back the next day again. The owner changed their response to my review and doesn’t seem to intend to make anything right. We want a refund because we left and did not stay. Expedia told us they would remove the listing from their site.

The front desk staff were friendly but only there limited hours. Ice is in the lobby, which closes at 8 pm, so get yours before then. It’s centrally located, about a 3 minute walk to the beach, behind Danny's Buoy. It can be a little hard to find if you’ve never been there before.
