Baan Pitumata Amphawa

We've come back for a second stay at this simple but lovely place. Aunty was so kind to our whole family, especially our son. We loved staying by the river and watching the monks pass early in the morning. Thanks, Aunty, for making it special again. 😊💕

There was only one maid, but she was so good. Aunty made boiled rice that tasted like something a chef would cook in a restaurant, and the service was kind and good. The place is quiet and about 900 m from the floating market. The room was clean and had air conditioning. The curtains are a little thin and let light through, so you can use a hair towel instead of an eye mask 😂😂

The owner really cares about making guests comfortable. I asked for a Thai Traditional Massage, and she arranged for a masseuse to come to the house. I had the massage on the balcony beside the canal, a pretty unique experience. As far as I can tell, this is the only homestay with a balcony right on the canal. It's very clean and peaceful, a nice escape from the busy market on weekends and a calm place to relax during the week, when the city basically shuts down. I enjoyed both the Market and the quiet weekdays. The walk to the center of the market takes less than 10 minutes, and the route through small alleys and along the canal is an experience too. Highly recommended.

We only had two days here and really wished we could have stayed longer. The hostess was so considerate and helpful; her English isn't fluent, but that caused no problems, and her son was there to help when needed. After our firefly boat trip, she offered local breakfast and night desserts. The boat comes right to the riverside doorstep, and street food is just a few steps away. Such an amazing guesthouse in Amphawa floating market, it felt like paradise. I could happily spend a week or even a month here.
