This local Thai-style floating house was a peaceful, lovely place to spend three days and two nights, with friendly staff. There’s a local evening market nearby for fruit and food. The kids enjoyed swimming, fishing, and kayaking.

We stumbled on this place by accident, and the owner was really friendly and helpful. The room by the river was perfect for a night, with good air conditioning, TV, Wi-Fi, and it was clean. There was tea and coffee available all day, plus breakfast. Very relaxed.

The owner and family were so welcoming. The place is a bit far from Amphawa Floating Market, so you can’t walk there, but you can ask the owner to arrange a boat trip to the market, to see fireflies, or to visit the nearby morning Thaka Floating Market. Dinner is only served if you request it. I recommend the BBQ shrimp, fried crab with chilli powder, and tom yam kung seafood soup. You can also explore the surrounding villages and temples by jogging or cycling.
