Ahad Suite Ao Nang

The staff were all very sweet, and I don’t blame them for this experience. It felt like the owners were trying to save money at the guests’ expense. Honestly, a hostel would have been better. We paid a 1000 baht deposit on arrival, which was fine, but then it felt like every little thing cost extra. Another toilet paper roll was 10-20 baht. We’d booked a room in Ahad suites but were placed in the neighboring “hidayah condotel” instead. The sewage smell in that building was unbearable whenever we went into the room, and we couldn’t sleep. There were bugs around the room too. Breakfast was very basic, with barely any options. Omelettes were cooked to order but then left out for the whole service. This was probably one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had.

The property had a calm atmosphere, a nice balance between being accessible and getting away from the crowds. It’s close enough to the main Ao Nang area for restaurants, shops, and beaches, with the nearest 7/11 around 500 meters away, but it’s a little removed from the noise. Pricing seemed reasonable for the comfort and room quality. My room at Ahad Suite was clean, spacious, and well maintained. The bed was comfortable, the air-conditioning worked properly, and the basic amenities were provided. After long days exploring beaches and nearby attractions, it was relaxing to come back. Staff were polite and helpful when needed, and check-in and check-out were smooth. It’s not a luxury resort, but it’s a reliable choice for a peaceful, comfortable stay with good value.

The pool didn’t look inviting, so we ended up going to the beaches more. Breakfast stayed the same every day and, apart from the fresh fruit, felt quite processed. The rooms were basic, with hard beds and a damp, mouldy bathroom that had nowhere to hang a towel. Housekeeping came daily, but mostly remade the beds, swept and mopped the floor, and replenished the water. The sink and toilet weren’t cleaned each day. The reception ladies were lovely, but having to ask for hand towels and extra soap every time got tiresome. I understand trying to reduce waste, though the hotel doesn’t readily provide those items. The photos of Ahad suites look as dated as the building. If you’re after a budget stay, this hotel is expensive. If you want quality and comfort, it isn’t the place.

The location was the main drawback. It’s about 1.5 km from Ao Nang Beach, so walking back and forth several times isn’t practical. A taxi is needed, though the short ride costs a manageable amount. The property’s drop-off service helps, but doesn’t run early in the morning and stops after 6-7 PM. We stayed two nights in the last week of January and paid 1,450 baht per night including tax through Agoda. For peak season, that felt worth it. The room size, cleanliness, washroom, balcony, and Wi-Fi were all good, and we had no issues. We chose a vegetarian breakfast, which was quite good considering vegetarian options are uncommon in Thailand. Besides the distance from the main lane, everything else was very good.
