Ao Nang View La Villa

The restaurant attached to the hotel was the best part, even though it's listed under a separate name. The staff were okay, but the beds are twin box springs that should've been replaced years ago, and the Wi-Fi wasn't working well. The hot shower nozzles are so old the water sprays in every direction. There's no elevator, so I'd suggest getting a room on a low floor. Live music plays at the bar next door seven days a week, and it's loud enough to sound like it's in the next room. If you need a good night's sleep, don't stay here. I could keep listing problems, but you get the point.

The Wi-Fi wasn't great, the room smelled, and ours had no window. The toilet and showers were full of spiders, and the fridge was dirty. At 6am, kids were running and shouting up and down the corridor. No staff asked them to quiet down, so I had to get up. The floors were soaked with sand and water, and I dropped my phone and smashed the screen. My runners were stolen from outside the hotel. The policy says no shoes inside, so I'd left them there. I put the sign on my door asking for the room to be cleaned and fresh towels, but nobody touched it. I checked myself out and am now staying across the road in a beautiful place. Do not book this accommodation!

The standard rooms were in the basement, and ours had no window. It felt like a dungeon. A mouse living in the headboard kept us awake all night, and the shower was cold. The Wi-Fi was poor too. The location was okay, but we nearly checked out early to move to the hostel across the road. In hindsight, I'd recommend everyone stay there instead. Horrid stay.

I booked because it's close to Ao Nang beach. The staff were decent, and the location earns two stars from me, but I've stayed in better places for less. There was no lift or kettle in the room, and the standard rooms felt claustrophobic. The surroundings were noisy, so there's not much else positive to say.
