Pookie is a very friendly host who can help arrange all kinds of activities, and her cooking is fantastic. She makes some of the best Thai dishes, definitely worth trying. Baan Mook Talay is set in a secluded part of Ao Nang, with a garden that leads straight onto the beach. The rooms are clean and very spacious, and the master bedroom at the back of the villa has a great view of the sea and islands. The pool is lovely for cooling off when it gets too hot, and for playing with small children. If you want to stay in paradise, this is the place.

The location is peaceful and has a spectacular view. Step out of the yard and you’re right on the beach, and at low tide you can walk all the way to nearby islands. The house is a bit far from tourist spots like Ao Nang, so plan on renting a scooter or car. WiFi is a little slow because of the location, though it didn’t bother us since we were usually out sightseeing. There’s a swimming pool in the backyard. Inside, the house is large and nicely furnished, with three big bedrooms, each with its own full bathroom. The kitchen and living room have everything you might need. An amazing house for a quiet, relaxing stay.

Pookie, who manages the house, is lovely and helps whenever she can. The house has plenty of room for a group of six, and the scenery in krabi is unique. The beach is just outside the yard. There are lots of mosquitoes from 5 to 7 pm, so keep the doors shut and go swimming before or after that window. I’d recommend it if you want a more alternative stay than a resort in ao nang.
