Guestroom 401

The staff were so unhelpful, and made a scene when we checked out late. They should speak to customers politely. We had money to pay the late fee, but they just shouted warnings at us from the balcony. So rude. I paid 13,000 baht for this so-called 4-star hotel in Krabi and expected basic service. There was no room service at all. Very disappointing.

The room was spacious, and we had direct access to the pool. They also lent guests beach towels and a bag, which was thoughtful. But the pool was often dirty and bland, the gym had very little equipment, and breakfast was limited. Most items stayed the same each day, and the few changing Thai dishes weren’t very tasty. Much of the property felt run down and poorly maintained. The hotel is far from Ao Nang town. A shuttle is available, but its timing was inconvenient and hard to coordinate. At night, odd noises from the air conditioner and lights became annoying. Water pressure in the bathroom was weak and inconsistent. Shampoo was missing, and the towels were worn out. We had to ask for extra pillows several times. The door didn’t work at first, and even after it was fixed, having to call every time was a hassle. For what we paid, it wasn’t worth it. Honestly, it was a sad “resort” stay, and I wouldn’t call it a resort or book here again.

The room with a private pool was clean and spacious, with a lovely view. Service and breakfast were good, too. We’d seen a lot of mixed and negative reviews and were hesitant, but our stay was fine overall. We didn’t rent a scooter through the hotel because it cost more than the shops outside. I gave four stars because a glass broke in our room on the first day and stayed there until checkout. It felt like they left it so they could show us we’d broken it and charge us. Leaving broken glass in the room was dangerous. The owners should value good service more than 50 baht for a glass.

The attached pool was the only good part. We paid about $150 a night for two nights and three days, but the facilities, food, service, and hospitality were horrible. It felt like a 2-star place, and being 3.5kms from Ao Nang beach made it hard to travel each time we wanted food or a drink. We were ten minutes late checking out and the receptionist shouted at us across the pool. After housekeeping cleaned the room, our soap, toothbrushes, and toothpaste were gone. When we got back, nobody was at reception. The staff member who showed up later couldn’t find any toiletries. The restaurant staff weren’t hospitable either. They reacted rudely when we asked for hot milk and an omelette, and we got a whole-egg omelette after asking for egg whites.
