A good fit if you're in town to explore. The room was clean, had everything I needed and the place is very central. There were some ants in the room, and being right on the main road made it a bit noisy, so it's not suited to light sleepers.

We were really happy with our stay at Monotel Aonang. The staff were lovely. We arrived late on the first night, and they left our key at reception with a note for us. The room was clean and roomy, and getting around was easy: there’s a 7-11, massage places, restaurants and laundry within walking distance. Aonang beach is about a 15-minute walk away.

The hotel’s pictures gave us a different impression from what we found. The rooms were in poor shape, especially the bathroom, and the towels looked old. A mirror came off the wall because it hadn’t been installed properly, but we were blamed and charged for it. We even called the police to explain that it wasn’t our fault, yet we still had to pay. The service was very poor. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The mountain view was really nice, and the hotel is well placed. There are good breakfast choices, clean rooms and useful facilities nearby. Just be aware that there’s no elevator, and it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the beach.

I only planned to stay one night, but ended up booking two more because I liked it. The room facing the mountain was quiet, and breakfast downstairs was good. It’s an easy 10-minute walk to the beach and a handy base for exploring town. The women at the front desk were some of the kindest people I met in Thailand.
