Palm Kiri Resort

We enjoyed two weeks at Palm Kiri Resort. The garden and pool were especially well kept, the house was beautiful, and the place stayed very clean. Evenings were quiet and peaceful, and the staff were reliably kind and helpful. Breakfast was fresh, tasty and had a good range of choices. There are small standalone houses as well as a larger building with about eight apartments. The walls in that building are very thin, so noisy neighbors can be heard talking or watching TV, which can be uncomfortable. The coffee is powdered, so if you like freshly ground coffee in the morning, it may not give you the refreshment you’re after. There isn’t much wardrobe space either, making it harder to unpack and organize clothes on a longer stay. A lovely, calm place with a beautiful setting and great staff, though those few things could be improved. All in all, 8/10.

Most of our stay at Palm Kiri Ao Nang Resort was pleasant, with a nice room, good location and generally friendly staff. But check-out spoiled the whole experience. A small drop of blood was on the bedsheet. They said they’d sent it to a dry cleaner and asked me to pay 1,000 THB, treating it as if I’d ruined the linen. The sheet wasn’t damaged, just dirty and clearly washable. They initially refused to return my deposit because of this, which felt very unfair and unprofessional, and not at all in line with normal hospitality. There was a similar concern with the couple in the next room. They were charged several hundred THB for an allegedly “lost” ashtray, though they said it had simply disappeared from their terrace. It suggests there may be a broader issue with the way small items and fees are handled here. Future guests should be aware of how deposits and extra charges are dealt with, including charges for ordinary washable stains or missing items.

This is our second time at the resort and we love it. The pool is crystal clear, the rooms are clean, and there’s plenty of parking for cars. It’s in a good location, with lovely scenery, a quiet atmosphere, kind staff and a nice breakfast.

The resort is great, clean and attentive to detail. The rooms are spacious, and the bathroom and towels were clean and smelled nice. The downside is that extra services cost more than average. For a hotel to airport transfer, you could save around 400 THB by going to Ao Nang beach and arranging the same service there. Excursions are similar, shop around in the center and you can find good quality at a more competitive price.
