The Meeting House Aonang

The room was much nicer than the booking.com pictures suggested, modern and with a little balcony at the back. There’s no view from it, but having private outdoor space was a nice bonus. The location is handy for Ao Nang beach and Landmark night market, with plenty of restaurants and places to book trips or rent scooters along the same street. The woman at reception was friendly and let us leave our bags when we arrived before check-in. We could hear a lot from the restaurant below our first-floor room, including cutlery clattering and its shutter going up and down. If you’re a light sleeper, I’d ask for a top-floor room.

The room was awful. The bathroom smelled strongly of cleaning chemicals, and it didn’t even seem very clean. The bedroom smelled like garbage, the air conditioning barely cooled, and one small ceiling light at the edge left most of the room dark. We nearly went to find another hotel, but since we arrived late in the evening we’ll have to stay one night and move on tomorrow. The location is near the beach and the staff are nice, but do NOT stay here.

The rooms were spacious, comfortable and clean, and a great deal for the price. The Meeting House is close to the night market, several beaches and the main street, with everything you might need right outside. I went to Dee All Massage every day during my stay and would suggest giving it a try too. The staff were incredible, so kind and genuinely keen for my partner and me to have a good time and enjoy Krabis many beautiful tours and opportunities. The receptionist even gave me his number in case of emergencies while we were on a tour. He helped us get the best deal, so I’d recommend booking tours through him if you stay here. 10/10, I couldn’t speak more highly of the staff or the place. AMAAZING!!!!

The real hotel matched the pictures I’d seen on a booking app. My room was spacious and very clean, and the location made it easy to walk around in the afternoon, with Ao Nang beach, restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Breakfast was delicious too. They offer useful services on site, so I didn’t need to look elsewhere. I got a very good price on a one day trip to phi phi island and used the airport transfer. You can also get a Thai massage there, and bike rental is right next to the hotel. You can get anything you need there.
