Ao Nang Timber House

Good value for a resort, with a more than adequate breakfast. There's a small gym area with a bench and weights, which is a nice bonus. The staff were helpful and printed boarding passes and arrival cards for our onward travel.

The location was really good, and the rooms were large. The pool was nice, with plenty of loungers and umbrellas. Breakfast had a broad selection: cereal, yoghurt, fresh fruit, toast, bread, jam, eggs, rice, chicken, noodles, fruit juice, tea, and coffee.

We had planned seven nights, but left after just one. We booked through booking.com, which approved the refund, and the hotel returned the money for the nights we didn't use, so we paid only for the night we stayed. The room was awful. The water was brown, the shower filthy, mold was crystallizing on the sink taps, the balcony door wouldn't lock, and the AC didn't work. We switched rooms, but the second was worse. It felt dangerous and like a health hazard. The booking.com photos looked like they were taken when the hotel was new, and it clearly hasn't been updated in a long time. The place needs a full renovation. We don't usually leave reviews, but had to say something. Please avoid it if you can.

I'm halfway through my stay and loving the place. Everything I need, including the beach, is just a few steps away. The pool and rooms are clean, and room service comes each morning with fresh towels and water bottles. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Love you guys, I'll be back soon!
