The only real drawback for me was the bathtub water, which wasn't hot enough for a bath, so don't count on making use of the huge tub in the suite. The room price also feels high for a hotel in a small town. And you'll need a car, or a bicycle, to reach the old city center. The place itself is a hidden gem in Ayutthaya city. It's right in the city center but tucked down a small street beside a canal, so it's peaceful and good for relaxing away from the chaotic world. It has just seven rooms in one building, run by an elderly couple. I stayed in the suite, the biggest room, and found it clean and well maintained. Apart from those issues, I have nothing to complain about and only compliments. I'd totally come back. I've found the best place in Ayutthaya.

I arrived at 4:30am to find the gate locked, but the owners came right out and welcomed me in as soon as I rang the bell. They served me tea, gave me temple advice, and stowed my luggage. Breakfast was wonderful, and the natural setting is beautiful. Definitely recommend.

The owners are amazingly friendly, helpful, and kind, and I'd definitely stay here again if I return to Ayutthaya. It's a beautiful hotel on the riverside, with lovely grounds where you can sit with a glass of wine and watch monitor lizards, birds, and frogs. There's also a sort of mini museum on the property. Tips: nearby Baan Ton sae is an amazing restaurant serving Thai Chinese food and has won multiple Michelin awards. For sensational Thai desserts, try Mae Monta Thai Dessert & Krungsri Steak, just one minute away.

If you want to get a feel for a Thai living quarter, this is the perfect place, right in the middle of one. There's street food and some restaurants around the corner, and Bib-gourmand is a 4 minute walk away. The garden sits beside the canal, with nice outdoor seating. I saw over 20 species of birds in an hour. Comfy rooms with outdoor showers too.
