Brickhouse Hostel

We arrived without a booking and got a double room with a private bathroom. The room was clean, comfortable, and had very cold air conditioning, and management was accommodating. This is a cute, quiet, cozy guesthouse at a reasonable price. I’d absolutely recommend it to backpackers looking for somewhere like that.

The single room was 300THB. I ended up in the twin room for that price, probably because the singles were full, so this is about the twin. It had a fan and a private bathroom with hot water, but basically nothing else: no soap, drinking water, toilet paper, tissues, or other amenities. The room was old and shabby, and only okay for cleanliness. I’ve stayed in equally worn rooms that were more comfortable; this one wasn’t comfortable. Bars just outside made it really noisy at night. I’d avoid this kind of location.

It’s a cozy guesthouse and good value for budget travelers. The rooms were okay, nothing luxurious, but fair for the price. The owner was very nice and helpful, gave us tips on good places, and offered us breakfast. I recommend it.

The owner was so helpful, showing us what to see, how to get there, and what to watch out for, all without us even asking. The place is on an easy-to-find street with several bars, though it isn’t a party district. It can still be noisy around 9-10 pm. Two markets are nearby, with a third about 15-20 minutes away on foot, and the temples and attractions are quite close. The rooms are clean, the beds are huge and comfortable, and there’s AC. Easy to reach, with the main sights within walking distance. Absolutely worth staying here.
