Royal Phala Cliff Beach Resort and Spa

The resort was a pleasant surprise, and I’d consider coming back for a weekend break. It’s a great spot for sunset watching, with a clean private beach and huge pools that work well for a family outing. The place is well organized, and the staff are helpful. WiFi was fine, with no problems. Breakfast was decent, and dinner at the hotel restaurant tasted good.

A quiet neighborhood makes this a good fit for families, couples, or solo travelers. The hotel is right on the beach, with lovely views, good food, and a large pool. Rooms are okay, and the service is friendly and helpful. 👌

The pool needs renovation, but the staff are friendly and helpful, and I’d stay here again next time we come. Our room was large, clean, and had a nice view. Breakfast was a good buffet, though the bread could be better, as it was only the local loaf.

I’m trying to leave immediately and have contacted Agoda to request a full investigation. This is a serious concern about guest safety and sanitation, and I can’t stay here another minute. I won’t wait until checkout. My stay at Royal Phala Cliff Beach, Rayong was a health and safety nightmare. I believe this hotel should not be open for business. The room was badly neglected and dirty, beyond ordinary wear and tear, and it was full of insects. There were hundreds, possibly thousands, in the bed, pillows, sheets, on the floor and walls, and even in my clothes. As soon as I lay down, they crawled over me and kept biting. It felt like being outside, and sleep was impossible. When I called the front desk right away, they said this was “normal in this area” and acted as if it was acceptable. They brought an old style broom and waved it around to chase the insects away, but they came back within minutes. There was no proper cleaning, pest control, urgency, or real fix. The hotel is also extremely isolated, with almost nothing nearby and no activities within walking distance. Even basic transportation is unreliable. I tried Grab, but rides were declined because no cars were available. Getting to a simple 7-Eleven was difficult and unrealistic, and once you’re there, you’re basically stuck. The food was terrible. I ordered seafood with rice and wouldn’t feed it to a dog. I had no trust in the place, so I checked the kitchen and service areas. They were covered with cardboard, some sections seemed closed off, and there were clear signs the hotel had almost no guests. It felt like it was barely operating, with no clients, no proper kitchen operation, and no service standards. A hotel without guests means no maintenance, hygiene, or accountability. Avoid Royal Phala Cliff Beach, Rayong if you care about cleanliness, safety, sleep, food hygiene, or basic transportation.
