The rice soup at breakfast was disgusting, and the staff seemed to spend their time messing around. The room’s ants provided about the only atmosphere, while the Wi-Fi didn’t work and offered an unwanted distraction from them. This place is disgusting. I’m pretty sure its three stars were handed out like the star stickers my elementary teacher gave me when I was five.

This is a cute local homestay run by someone from the village, right by the roadside in a small village at the foot of Doi Inthanon National Park. English isn’t widely spoken, so Google Translate came in handy. Breakfast is free from 7 to 9, with boiled rice, and coffee is available all day. We didn’t know about the breakfast hours and came out at 9:30, only to be told there was none left. It’s good value if you want to stay near doi inthanon without spending much on accommodation.

The room was small, with no fridge, and the microfiber towels were tiny. The walls are paper thin, so you can hear every word from the next hut. There’s no opening window or extractor fan in the toilet, which means the bedroom gets smelly. Breakfast was mouldy bread. It was clean enough, but at 600B, the green rooms would cost 400B in most other places. I’ve stayed in better places for less.

A good choice if you’re driving, since the lodges let you park right outside. The rooms are spacious enough for four or five people, and there’s a simple DIY breakfast. It’s also just a stone’s throw from the gate of Doi Inthanon national park.
