Ruantalay Bangsaray Resort

Ya, the cheerful young woman who’s half-Thai and half-French, gave excellent service and recommendations. It’s a semi-homestay resort, and the rooms are good for a reasonable price. The restaurant feels warm and cozy, with ambiance I’d rate 10/10. The food is a little expensive, though, and tasted average to good rather than amazing. I’d still recommend the resort.

The restaurant had a great atmosphere, but the price didn’t match the food. I ordered 7 dishes and found every one incredibly bland. The oyster omelet was mushy, almost all fried batter, like sticky rice flour. The shrimp patties seemed like steamed shrimp wrapped in banana leaves, and the creamy tom yum tasted like chicken coconut soup.

They should close. The food was awful, cold instead of hot, and the portions were small for the price, especially compared with the restaurants next door. It seemed pre-made and reheated.

The taste was delicious, but the blue crabs didn’t seem fresh, as if they’d been farmed for a long time. The meat crabs were the same.
