We paid by card for four nights when we checked in, then found bed bugs in the room. The receptionist picked one up and removed it, saying things should be fine, but we were told there were no other rooms. It didn’t seem like the staff understood there was an infestation or how to deal with it. We booked somewhere else and arranged a partial cash refund, about half our payment. They didn’t think a full refund was due because they felt there was no problem, even though we never stayed in the room. We agreed to the partial amount because we didn’t want to drag out an awful situation. Then the hotel told the booking platform we hadn’t shown up, and I got a message saying I might have to pay the room fee again. I’m sharing this so others can make an informed choice.

The stay itself wasn’t bad, but I wouldn’t choose this hotel again. It’s at the far end of a tight alley that isn’t pleasant to walk through, with people cooking and rubbish around. I didn’t feel in danger, it just didn’t seem like a good setting for a hotel. If your girlfriend or wife gets scared easily, it may not suit you. It’s a two-star place, so rooms aren’t cleaned daily. You need to leave your key and ask for cleaning, and the staff sometimes understand and sometimes don’t. That’s about all I have to say.

We were moved from a room for four to one for three, but still asked to pay the full price. The new room felt cramped and uncomfortable, and the staff seemed stingy and indifferent. There wasn’t a blanket in the room, and when I asked for one they first wanted to charge extra. After I explained it had never been provided, they said they had no spare blankets. A very disappointing stay.

The staff were very nice, and I enjoyed hearing the evening prayer from the nearby Mosque. The hotel was quiet and comfortable, with a comfortable bed. A few practical things could be better: there’s no bathroom shelf for soap and such, and you get air conditioning or nothing, with no fan. It’s down a long alley, so taxis can’t come directly to the hotel, and there’s no lift. I’d still recommend it.
