Asoke Montri Hostel

At least the location is handy, near Terminal 21 and BTS, and I usually stay around Sukhumvit when I visit BKK. There are other nearby hostels that are much better than Asok Montri. The owner or boss was extremely rude, glaring at guests and answering questions in a mean, condescending way. She seemed to judge everyone. There were undeclared fees and hidden charges, yet she wouldn't even provide a towel. The staff were timid and couldn't speak English. There was no elevator, but we were put on the fifth floor for a stay of under 12 hours. The shared bathrooms were poorly maintained and dimly lit. You have to remove your shoes at the entrance, then climb many flights barefoot or in bedroom slippers.

The location is good and the rooms were clean, but the owner's unprofessional manner was a major problem for me. Her family lives in the building, which by itself isn't an issue, though staying there felt more like being at someone's home than in a hostel. The owner was rude and condescending, treating me like a child she could order around instead of a paying visitor. It seems more like a homestay.

I didn't book a room here, but the boss was friendly and hospitable when she helped me. I really appreciate her kindness 🥰

That owner was a nightmare, so rude and treating me like a naughty kid. Asoke Montri Hostel felt more like Asoke Misery Hostel 🙄 Save yourself the trouble and book somewhere else. Never again 👎
