Chinatown Heritage

The rooms are beautiful and stylish, and the bathrooms are lovely. Chinatown's busy hub is just a short walk away, and the location is excellent. I only wish the pillows were flatter. I'd absolutely stay here again on another visit to Bangkok.

Nai Ek Roll is a ten-minute walk away, and you really should try it. The crispy pork there is the best in Chinatown. The staff here were friendly and very helpful, too. For the price, this hotel is a great find in a good location. The room was clean and big enough for my husband and me. The lobby is small but still adequate, and there's a microwave and free water refills. The toilet has a bidet, though the bathroom gets a bit flooded when we shower.

If you're craving fish and chips, this is the place I'd pick. Bangkok has several shops doing Thai fish in beer batter, but this is the best local Thai fish and chips shop I've tried in town. The portions are quite decent, the craft beer selection deserves praise, and there's other food on the menu for people who aren't keen on fish and chips. Staff and service were excellent, and everyone spoke very well and knew their stuff.

I tried the snapper, and it was tasty and flaky. There are several local fish to choose from, and the malt vinegar and salt are on the table, with ketchup served in a little dish. The batter was perhaps a bit overdone and oily, which covered the fish's flavor somewhat. The chips seemed like basic frozen ones, not hand-cut. It's a fairly unusual spot for a fish and chip shop, but I'd definitely go back to try another fish. Pretty decent overall.
