COZ at Ratchathewi - Hostel

Good value in Ratchathewi, right across from the bus stop, with the shopping district about a 15-minute walk away. There are halal food streets and mosques nearby, which makes the area friendly for Muslim guests. Housekeeping were kind and nice. They couldn't speak English, but managed well with Google Translate. There's a shared kitchen, an iron station, and a washing machine on the ground floor. The second floor is for men, the third for women, and the fourth is mixed, so check that if you need privacy. Fourth-floor rooms have private bathrooms. They provide towels, soap, and shampoo, but no other amenities like sandals or toothpaste. One room had a badly stained shower curtain. There's a prayer room on the mezzanine at the first floor, but access is by stairs only. Bring manageable luggage for an easier stay.

Coz at Ratchathewi Hotel kept my money after I cancelled a fully paid booking within the allowed period. They refused the refund, gave me excuses and promises that weren't kept, and the staff were unhelpful and unprofessional. I felt scammed. Be careful booking here: in my experience, they didn't honor the cancellation or refund policy. There are more honest hotels nearby that respect their guests and booking terms.

For the price, our room was spacious and a good deal. It was handy having the bath and restroom just across from us. The downside was hearing the shower and the neighboring room's door opening and closing. Still, the location was the best part: the bus stop is right outside, a 7eleven is a few minutes away on foot, and you can walk to Pratunam. We had a great stay.

The friendly host made us happy with our stay, and for the affordable price it felt worth it. The bus stops right outside, and the BTS station is only about 500 meters away. Our private room was spacious and the AC was cold, with a clean bathroom, though the curtain and toilet divider were dirty and should be replaced. There's no bathroom exhaust fan, the door opens a little toward the bed, and the window is tiny, which made using the bathroom awkward. We couldn't turn on the TV because there was no remote. We stayed four days and three nights. Maybe I'd come back to Bangkok and stay here again, just not in a private room.
