DoubleTree by Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok

Breakfast was outstanding, with a huge spread, live cooking, Asian and Western choices, fresh juices, immunity shots, and more than I could try in one stay. The General Manager often checks in with guests, which adds to the experience. The seventh-floor pool and gym were excellent, with attentive staff, plenty of loungers including in-water ones, a bar, food service, and a non-smoking environment. The rooms were spacious, modern, and very comfortable, with good storage, universal power points, a great bed, and city views that look fantastic at night. The bathroom has a large double rainfall shower and a clever sliding partition. There’s a warm welcome at reception, a restaurant and bar, fast lifts, and pleasant outdoor garden seating at the back. I was greeted, thanked for returning, and given the signature warm cookie. Parking is on site, and drop-off at the entrance is easy. Hilton Honors recognized me before arrival and got in touch to help make the stay seamless, with benefits and possible upgrades depending on status. The Sukhumvit location is convenient for Phrom Phong BTS, EmQuartier, Emporium, and connections around Bangkok. Check-out was smooth and the staff were helpful. One of my favourite Hiltons in Bangkok. It’s not the biggest, but it consistently delivers quality, comfort, and genuine service. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Book the breakfast if you stay here. There’s a wide selection and it’s all delicious. The rooms are neat, clean, and really comfortable, and you can set the AC to whatever temperature suits you. The shower is modern, with both a rain shower and hand sprayer. The staff go out of their way to make your stay superb. This place is fantastic!

It’s a calm, pleasant place to stay, with a real sense of hospitality throughout. The hotel doesn’t go for extravagance, but it does the thoughtful details well, from the tasteful decor to the welcome cookie on arrival. It’s officially a four-star property, and the care it shows is commendable. The location is quiet but still convenient, with useful amenities nearby. There’s also a Michelin-recommended restaurant close to the hotel, a nice option if you want good dining alongside a comfortable base. A solid choice for travelers who value a quiet, well-considered stay.

I expected a professional stay at a DoubleTree by Hilton, but we ran into service problems from beginning to end. Our booking was for three rooms with king beds and no corner rooms, but at check-in they said they had no record of those requests. One room was made up with twin beds, and after a lot of back-and-forth we couldn’t get into the rooms until 6:00 PM. While waiting, we went to the bar. A brochure on the table showed a 1-for-1 beer promotion, and staff confirmed it, but the bill charged us full price. Another staff member said the offer applied to a different property, even though the brochure was right in front of us. At 12:00 AM the curtain lights in our room started flickering uncontrollably. A technician had to come in at midnight to stop them, which was intrusive and disrupted our sleep. I raised all of this with Ms. Apple in management and felt brushed off. They offered five drink vouchers that expired that same night, plus a complimentary upgrade on a future stay. I’m not a loyalty member and don’t plan to return, so that future offer was worthless to me. Management wouldn’t provide tangible compensation, such as a partial refund or credit, despite us losing half a day of our stay and having our rest interrupted at midnight. If your time and sleep matter to you, stay somewhere else. There are many hotels in Sukhumvit that handle service recovery better.
