The shared balcony was nice, and the central Bangkok location was good for the price. Staff were pleasant and let us leave our bags there on checkout day. Getting there was an experience because Google Maps sent us across the very dirty canals, where there was a monitor lizard on the path. There’s a better route from the street. The shower is right in front of the toilet with no divider, so everything gets wet, and the AC only partly worked. One night was fine, but I wouldn’t want to stay longer.

The owners were friendly and helpful, and their cute cats and dog greeted us whenever we came back. I liked the neighborhood: it felt authentic and not too touristy, and we had some nice chats with the neighbors. The canal outside smells a little, but I really didn’t think it was that bad. We had dinner at a very nice restaurant nearby beside the railroad, and I definitely recommend going there. A nice, cheap place for a couple of days.

I was really pleased with the place. Lots of cats, a lovely outdoor area to relax in, and the rooms were satisfactory.

The staff were kind, and they gave me two bottles of water. When I asked to leave early because the smell was unbearable, they let me check out and refunded half my payment, which I appreciated. The canal outside is filthy and smells so bad that I felt nauseous, and the odor gets into the hostel and even the room. I also felt uneasy walking back at night because the neighborhood seemed a bit dangerous.

There are plenty of places to sit and eat outside the small but comfortable rooms, and the atmosphere is great. The building looks lovely with plants all over it. The people working here are really nice, and the location makes it easy to find tasty, affordable food. Expect lots of cats, plus one friendly dog hoping for some attention.
