Be careful renting here. The rooms are worn down and sleazy looking, nothing like the photos. They charge what I consider ridiculous prices for electricity and water, which I believe is illegal. And if you hand over your deposit in cash, you can say goodbye to it. Places like this are why Thai property owners get a bad reputation. Avoid it at all costs.

The reception ladies we met were lovely, cheerful, and helpful, and the peaceful setting nudged my rating up to four stars. It’s very quiet, though getting back to the main Udomsuk Road means a long walk. The rooms are huge and good value, about 660 THB a night on Agoda, with plenty of storage, a nice hot-water shower, a balcony, and a comfortable bed. On the downside, there’s no kettle in the room, just one in the lobby, and the TV was all in Thai, which I suppose is to be expected in this location. The room and property feel more like three-star quality to me, but the location and quietness brought it up to four.
