KU Home Hotel

The room was cozy for the price, and the water heater and air conditioning both worked perfectly. Towels and shower gel were provided, and you could ask reception for an iron and ironing board. The receptionists spoke English well and were helpful, as were the bellboy and security guard. Housekeeping didn’t clean my room at all during my four-day stay, though, and I saw charlie ants twice. Service overall could be better. Still, it’s definitely worth staying here if you have business at Kasetsart University.

Getting around takes some walking. KU Home feels far from other places at first, but once you’re used to a 10-minute walk to most destinations, it’s pretty convenient. There are lots of food choices along the same road, and you can also find Canteen 1 or the canteen at the School of Engineering on the map. Cross the overhead bridge for a supermarket and more restaurants. Anmonpan is good for a meal too, though it’s a bit farther and you have to use the bridge connecting to the Roof Bar. The beds are springy and comfortable, as are the pillows. Air conditioning works well, though the air feels a bit off. Shampoo, body soap, hand soap, towels, and a fridge under the TV are provided. The heater works great. No hair dryer or kettle in the room, but you can ask reception.

The price really isn’t worth it. The room feels very old, and there’s very little comfort compared with hotels at similar prices. The front desk staff seemed to know little about hotel service or government travel rules, and they even charged the wrong amount to my card. The service was very poor overall. The manager was the only person who looked after me during my visit. Breakfast has four main Thai dishes, bread, a small salad bar, hot eggs, hot dogs, ham, generic cereals, and a few other items. Parking is a block away and has maybe 30 spaces. I was very disappointed and would recommend looking at other hotels if you have time.

The room is really big, about 30 square meters, and they serve halal food. The entrance is up stairs, so be careful if you have a large suitcase. You may want to bring your own slippers and toothbrush. Some staff don’t speak English. Still, everything was okay overall.
