Look Shine Apartment by Oyo Rooms

The room wasn’t tidied during the three nights we stayed, the sheets weren’t changed, and nothing was done about the garbage. The service was very bad. I’m asking Oyo Hotel to look into the employees, because I felt they were trying to take advantage of tourists. I booked through the Agoda application, as I always do, and usually only pay the hotel deposit on top of the booking. At check-in, the woman at reception said Agoda had made a mistake and asked for extra money. She gave me a price, I agreed, and paid 600 baht more than the original amount, plus a 200 baht deposit that she said would be returned if I left the room in good condition. When I checked out, I asked for the deposit and was shocked by the response. The people at reception, women from Myanmar and not Thailand, said I hadn’t paid them anything. I said we could call the police and check the surveillance camera to see who was telling the truth. When I asked for the manager, they said he was away travelling. I felt that made it clear they were trying to deceive me. They’d taken more than the Agoda price and also wanted to keep my advance payment. I raised my voice and called the police, and then got my money back from them.

Be careful booking through a third-party hotel site. The website said this was close to Khaosan road, but it’s more than 30 mins away by car. That was false, and I wasted my booking money and had to find another hotel.

A small, cozy room with a clean, homelike feel. If you want somewhere away from all the noise in Bangkok, this is the place.

The restroom didn’t work properly. We left the hotel early, but they never refunded us.
