Nacorn Hostel Khaosan

The cramped, old building felt dark, with beds that seemed worn and squeezed together. The only showers were on the top floor, and with no elevator I had to haul my suitcase up five flights of narrow stairs. I really don't understand the high ratings. The atmosphere felt bad, and I canceled as soon as I checked in. I still had to pay $10 for that first night, but moving next door was absolutely the right call. For about the same price, Line Bangkok hostel was ten times better. It was cleaner, more spacious, brighter, prettier, and felt more luxurious and scenic. I walked over with my suitcase in two minutes and checked in there. The better value made the effort of leaving early worthwhile, and I highly recommend it.

It's right by the river and next to Khao San Road, but the hostel itself is calm and quiet. The staff are nice, rooms are clean, and the toilets and showers are hygienic. They also give you a towel when you check in.

A cheap, really good hostel near Khaosan road and the buses. Breakfast is included, and the showers are surprisingly incredible for a hostel.

I've only been here for 24 hours, but I really like it so far. It's not perfect, though it's damn good, and already one of my top two Bangkok hostels and among my top five worldwide. I'll try the other cube hostel too, and hope I can come back here.
