Sukhumvit 99 has four hostels in the same soi (lane). Each is a renovated shophouse with the same basic structure, though the decor depends on the design and the construction workers’ skill. Their quality and prices are quite similar. Which one you like or dislike comes down to preference, so we recommend trying all four in rotation.

The room itself was okay, but the people around us made it hard to rest. Their shoes and socks smelled awful, and they spoke loudly in the morning and late at night, with the noise coming right through the room. The next-door guests also brought a big group of friends. At 1:30 AM I checked for my slippers and they were gone; maybe the neighbors had already left.
