New Phiman Riverview Guesthouse - Hostel

The owner is so sweet and helpful, and the place feels cozy, with a lovely river view. The rooms are a little rustic, so that might not suit everyone, but I thought it was a really nice place.

This is a great budget guesthouse in a really cool neighborhood, with lots of locals and plenty of good restaurants and cafés. Phra Artit River terminal is nearby, making it easy to get around the city. It feels like a true Bangkok experience.

I stayed here for six months in 2003 and met my wife here. I still have wonderful memories of the cool breeze off the river. It was also really easy to explore Bangkok from here. Great for young people!

The river views are outstanding, and I loved the beautiful “puddle” in the shared area. It’s budget-friendly, too. My private room was dirty, though, and the smell was so bad I’d rather not describe it. Bring mosquito repellent, you’ll need it. The host was helpful and let me check in very late. Try your luck, maybe we guests can turn it into a real hidden gem 💎.
