OYO 102 Diamond Residence Silom

At reception, we discovered our fully paid booking had been cancelled, even though the hotel’s cancellation email had arrived only minutes before. It came at 1:59 pm on 22/03/2025, and we reached the hotel at 2:05 pm that same day. The staff and owner said they had cancelled because they thought the price we paid was below the market rate on check-in day. But we booked at the price advertised on Agoda.com. We never asked for a discount or pressured them to lower it. The owner showed no sense of responsibility about whether he had breached the contract. He rudely told us that it was their premises and we couldn't complain there, and said to take it up with whatever website we had booked through. He angrily ordered us to leave immediately and shamelessly called himself a 20 year own business man. The staff were all very rude, too. The owner then shamelessly asked us to pay the higher price if we wanted to stay, or else he would make us leave. Please learn from what happened to me. You shouldn't be treated like a worthless guest. Spend your money wisely and stay somewhere else.

The room photos online were misleading. Mine was shown with windows, but the room I got had none, so it felt stuffy and poorly ventilated. There were mold spots on the walls, peeling wallpaper, and even a booger on the wall. On my second or third night I woke up with a cockroach crawling on my shoulder, and that was enough for me to leave early. I didn't report the problems at the front desk because the booking was non-refundable and I didn't expect them to resolve anything. The staff were very nice and welcoming, and the Silom location is great if you want to party. I know the price is very affordable, but that doesn't excuse poor cleanliness or inaccurate room information. If you aren't sensitive to cleanliness and just need a cheap place to crash, it might do. I wouldn't recommend booking, though. The website misrepresents the rooms and the hygiene standards are unacceptable. Sukhumvit is close to Silom and, in my view, has better hotel or hostel options at similar prices.

Glad I only booked one night. It was a horrible experience, and in my opinion, staying here is a waste of your money. I suggest you don't come.

The bathroom ceiling had mold, but it did the job for the few days we were there. Rooms were functional, and the staff were fine and friendly. The location was good, so it was passable for a short hotel stay.
